On May 1st, Ambassador Gao Yanping meets with Ms. Yael German, mayor of Herzliya at the city council of Herzliya. Also present at the meeting are Mr. Zhang Xinyuan, director of the Administrative Office of the Chinese Embassy, Ms. Ruth Rasnick, member of Herzliya City Council, and Ms. Atara Barratson, Director International Relations.

Ambassador Gao says she has been working on furthering the relationship between Chinese and Israeli people and promoting practical cooperation ever since she arrived in Israel eight month ago. This year marks the 20th anniversary of the establishment of China-Israel diplomatic relations, friendship at municipal and provincial level is a vital component of bilateral relations, and the Chinese Embassy will continue to promote the friendship between cities from both sides. Ambassador Gao expresses her full confidence that China-Israel friendship will take its root and bear fruitful accomplishments in Herzliya.

Ms. German welcomes warmly Ambassador Gao on the latter’s visit to the city council. She tells Gao that the people from all walks of life in Israel admire the achievements of China and attach much importance to the friendly cooperation between the two nations. She stands ready to provide her support for the development of China-Israel relations, and is willing to strengthen ties with the Chinese counterparts, and promote cooperation in all fields, particularly the cultural, educational, and science-technological sectors.
