Delegation of CPC Young Political Leaders Visits Israel

From June 4th to June 7th, the Delegation of Young Political Leaders of the Chinese Communist Party headed by Party Secretary Zhang Xiaoqin of Qinzhou Municipality of Guangxi Zhuang Autonomous Region visited Israel. On June 5th, Ambassador Gao Yanping hosted the delegation at her official residence. Counselor Shi Yong, Counselor Dai Yuming, and Director Liu Li of the Political Section were present.

Ambassador Gao briefed the delegation on the economic and social development of Israel and the fruitful results achieved in various fields in the past 20 years between China and Israel. Ambassador Gao stressed that local cooperation was an important part of the bilateral relations, and hoped to see more local cooperation in the future with more win-win results for both peoples.

Mr Zhang said the main purpose for the visit was to learn from the successful experiences of Israel's economic and social development, and to strengthen exchanges and cooperation with Israeli local governments. Mr. Zhang underscored that the 20th anniversary of diplomatic ties provided the two countries with new opportunities for local exchanges and cooperation, which they would try to seize to strengthen their ties and cooperation with Israel.
During their visit, the delegation visited the Israeli Foreign Ministry, Ministry for the Development of the Negev and Galilee, Tel Aviv Municipality, Union of Local Authorities in Israel, Savyon Local Council, "Better Place" electric car company, Shefayim agricultural training center and dripping irrigation demonstration area.
