Chinese Film Festival Lifted its Curtain in Israel

A grand opening ceremony of the Chinese Film Festival with the theme of "From the Treasures of China Film Archive" was held in Cinematheque in Tel Aviv on the evening of November 2nd, 2008. H.E. Mr. Zhao Jun, Ambassador of China to the State of Israel, a four-member Chinese Film Delegation, Dr. Yehoyada Haim, former Ambassador of the State of Israel to China, officials from the city government of Tel Aviv and over 500 local audience attended the opening ceremony.

Ambassador Zhao delivered a warm congratulation on the opening of the Chinese Film Festival in Israel and stated that this cultural event can deepen the understanding and enhance the friendship between the peoples of both countries by the frequent cultural exchanges between two countries. Mrs. Gila Almagor, the most famous actress in Israel, also made a warm speech. After the opening ceremony, the film of When Ruoma was Seventeen was shown.

From November 2nd to 22nd, ten Chinese classic films such as Cell Phone, Woman Basketball Players #5, Five Golden Folwers, Early Spring in February, The Missing Gun and so on, are being shown respectively in the cities of Tel Aviv, Haifa and Jerusalem.
